We are placing Hollywood with limited NKC registration into a pet-only home under a legal vasectomy/neuter contract.

His fee reflects his lineage, health and the level of support and involvement we offer our families for life.

With a name like Hollywood, you'd expect a dog with star quality - and this boy has it in every way!
He's undeniably handsome, loyal to the core and absolutely full of heart.

Hollywood is a striking male European Doberman looking for a new forever home after being placed into what was meant to be his forever home last summer...and then life had other plans. Hollywood was lovingly returned due to an unexpected medical emergency in his original family. This medical emergency turned into 4 months in the ICU and has now altered the course of life for the family in having to provide at-home care, indefinitely. It was a heartbreaking decision, but one made out of love and responsibility, The family made the difficult call to return Hollywood in that he could have the best chance at a stable, lifelong home. It'’s time for Hollywood’s next chapter.

Hollywood is everything you'd expect from strong European working lines - alert, intelligent, loyal and incredibly striking in appearance. He was raised with care and mainly spent his days with his retired male human. In our home, he has been friendly with every member of our family. He becomes especially happy + excited with our youngest (who is 11).
Being a young European Doberman, he is very adaptable. He was raised a certain way with his original family, where he had a specific schedule. He has now adapted to our schedule and in your home, he must be gently guided to learn your ways as well.
Hollywood will need some training - either by his forever family or with a professional trainer. 

This is a deeply loving, special boy who deserves a lifelong commitment and a home that understands the unique needs of a young working-line Doberman. Providing consistency and dedication is key. Hollywood will thrive in an active household
with structure, leadership, purpose and companionship. 

Hollywood has been positively evaluated by our vet. A fecal test was performed showing no parasites.

Hollywood is not yet fully grown. He will get larger and thicken out through the chest and body.

⚠️ Hollywood is not to be used for breeding. He is intact for now only to allow proper physical development of bones and joints. A vasectomy/neuter contract and legal agreement will be required at placement.

 

Our Observations
Hollywood is a gentle soul with a big heart — at just over a year old, he’s still learning the ropes of the world, but his eagerness to bond and please is truly endearing. He was raised by a kind, retired gentleman in a quiet two-person household, which means he’s used to calm, predictable rhythms. On walks, Hollywood is typically non-reactive to passing dogs — calm, cool, and collected — but when pups come in for a closer sniff, he can get a little too curious and forget his manners. With a gentle correction and continued guidance, he’ll learn how to give space and respect boundaries.

 

One behavior to note — Hollywood does mouth. This is common in Dobermans, often a mix of affection and playfulness, but in his case, it was either permitted by his previous owner or simply never corrected. He may gently place his mouth around your hand or arm — not to bite, just to interact. While it's not aggressive, this is a habit that should be redirected consistently and calmly to help him understand appropriate boundaries.

 

He’s also a bit of a negotiator: if you take something away from him and remain seated or still facing him, he may whine or bark in an attempt to get it back. But the moment you walk away and go about your business? So does he. It’s a little window into his silly, expressive personality.

Physically, Hollywood is in great shape with one exception: he does have a mild elbow hygroma — a soft, fluid-filled swelling on one elbow. This is not painful or dangerous, and it's actually quite common in larger breeds who frequently lie on hard surfaces. His previous owner had a concrete pool deck, and Hollywood often chose that cool spot to rest, which likely led to the hygroma. The good news? It's already shrinking noticeably since he arrived just a month ago. The best "treatment" is simply ensuring he has access to soft bedding and cushioned areas wherever he lays down — which, truthfully, every pampered pup deserves anyway.

When Hollywood enters your home, expect a transition period — he’s not misbehaving; he’s adjusting. New smells, new rooms, new rules — it’s a lot for a young pup to take in. Even though he’s technically house-trained, it’s very possible he’ll have a few accidents early on. Please don’t take this as a setback — he just needs grace, patience, and a little time to feel safe and confident again. Clean-ups should be quick and drama-free: take him outside, clean up inside, and carry on with love.

Because Hollywood spent most of his indoor time in a crate, he hasn’t yet learned what’s off-limits in a home. Puppy-proofing will be your best friend during this time — if it’s within reach, it might be considered a chew toy! We've had to take a few things away from him that he somehow found, such as two pairs of sunglasses, our kiddo's stuffed animals and some socks. We have blocked off access to our trash can as he can be an opportunist. He’s not naughty, just curious and figuring it out. With consistency and kindness, Hollywood will grow into the loyal, well-mannered companion he’s meant to be.

Overall, Hollywood is a very good boy — eager to please, full of heart, and absolutely capable of learning what’s expected of him. Like many Dobermans, he loves to chew, so it’s important to keep plenty of appropriate chew items on hand. Collagen sticks, bully sticks, and other durable chews will help satisfy his need and keep him from finding alternatives. If he starts chewing something inappropriate, a simple redirection to one of his favorite chewables usually does the trick.

He's not trying to misbehave — he's just a young dog looking for guidance, comfort, and connection.

 

And one last but very important note: Hollywood is a male Doberman, and as is often the case with the breed, males can take longer to fully mature — both emotionally and behaviorally. If you’re considering bringing him into a home with another dog, it could work, but it will require a slow, patient acclimation process. That kind of transition doesn’t follow a timeline — it could take days, weeks, or even longer. Are you prepared to commit to that kind of process? If you're hoping for a quick and easy integration, we’d gently caution that Hollywood may not be the right fit in that scenario. Ideally,

Hollywood would thrive as the only dog in the home, where he can truly be the star that he is.
