Pretty Boy Floyd is being placed with limited NKC registration into a pet-only home under a legal vasectomy/neuter contract to be completed by 2 years of age. His adoption fee reflects his exceptional lineage, health and the lifetime of support we offer every one of our families. We are in no hurry to place him—it will take the right person, not just any person.
With a name like Pretty Boy Floyd, you'd expect style and presence—and this boy absolutely has both. But what makes him unforgettable isn't just his stunning good looks, his intelligent expression, or his confident posture. It's the quiet gentleness he carries with him and the unmistakable sweetness that comes forward once he knows he’s safe.
Floyd is a deeply affectionate, soulful young male who has been with our family for the past 10 months. He was originally placed in what was intended to be his forever home, but due to a significant situation that arose, he was returned to us so he could have the best chance at long-term success and stability.
Floyd will be placed in a home with no other pets and no children.
Since returning, Floyd has settled beautifully into our home, our rhythm and our routines.
He's a super smart, eager, loving dog who craves connection, structure and a good squeaky toy.
And speaking of toys—this boy lives for them. His absolute joy is carrying a spiky rubber squeaky ball around the yard like it’s a prize trophy. He’ll toss it in the air, race after it, parade around with it proudly... and if you bring out the garden hose? Prepare yourself. You’re about to see one of the most joyful, goofy, water-obsessed Dobermans to ever grace your yard.

Floyd walks with a head halter due to his strength—he is a powerful dog—but he responds well to calm, confident handling and thrives in a predictable environment. He has lived harmoniously with every member of our family, including our youngest child (age 11), and adores playtime and structured affection.
He is intelligent, emotionally sensitive, and eager to engage with his people. Floyd thrives with leadership, patience, and consistency. If you're an experienced Doberman person—or someone willing to learn and grow with intention—he could be the once-in-a-lifetime dog you’ve been waiting for.
⚠️ Floyd is not to be used for breeding. He is intact for now to support physical development, but a vasectomy
or neuter is legally required by age 2.

Our Observations
Pretty Boy Floyd is a strong & gentle soul with a big heart — at 1 year and 10 months old and having gone through a major change in being returned, he’s still learning the ropes of the world, but his eagerness to bond and please is truly endearing.
He was raised by my family & I from birth to three months old, at which point he was adopted by a great family with four children in the household and returned in November 2024.
He is used to calm, predictable rhythms. On walks, Pretty Boy Floyd is typically non-reactive to passing dogs — very interested, but remains calm, cool and collected. Due to his past, we don't engage further than that.
When Pretty Boy Floyd enters your home, expect a transition period and understand he’s not misbehaving; he’s adjusting. New smells, new rooms, new rules — it’s a lot for a new canine to take in. Even though he’s technically house-trained, it’s very possible he’ll have a few accidents early on. He did with us in the beginning. Please don’t take this as a setback — he just needs grace, patience and a little time to feel safe and confident again. It is important to NOT give Pretty Boy Floyd free run of your home in the beginning. Cordoning off smaller areas will be most beneficial for Pretty Boy Floyd to acclimate.
Clean-ups should be quick and drama-free: take him outside, clean up inside and carry on with love.
We have blocked off access to our trash can as he can be an opportunist. He’s not naughty - just curious and figuring it out. With consistency and kindness, Pretty Boy Floyd will grow into the loyal, well-mannered companion he’s meant to be.
Overall, Pretty Boy Floyd is a very good boy — eager to please, full of heart and absolutely capable of learning what’s expected of him.
Like every Doberman, he loves to chew, so it’s important to keep plenty of appropriate chew items on hand. Collagen sticks, bully sticks and other durable chews will help satisfy his need and keep him from finding alternatives. If he starts chewing something inappropriate, a simple redirection to one of his favorite chewables usually does the trick.
He's genuinely not trying to misbehave — he's just a young dog looking for guidance, comfort and connection.
📌 We require families to stay in touch with us. Our dogs are family to us for life. It brings us great joy to receive occasional
updates, photos and videos. When adopters say they’ll keep in touch and don’t, it’s genuinely heartbreaking.

Von Schaaf Haus DuPree Dobermans & Danes has been breeding the European Doberman breed with a focus on making the transition from our loving home to yours as easy as possible for you, our buyer. We strive to breed healthy European Dobermans, working with new owners to ensure these precious creatures get the love, care and attention they deserve.
Each European Doberman puppy will have been microchipped and de-wormed at regular intervals. Our precious pups will always be current on their rounds of vaccinations. Raised in our home with our children, playing non-stop with their siblings and cuddled with so much love every single day. Our babies have only ever known a kind hand, full belly, warmth & love.
Our Doberman puppies are crate-trained. We work hard to establish crate-training as well as keeping them on a regular potty schedule. This will greatly aid in you in the house-breaking phase! Puppies have been on a regular feed/water/potty schedule since 5 weeks of age. These sweet loves do not like to make messes in the house or their crate so as long as you, as their new owner, honor their needs to go out very frequently while they are still in the puppy stage, they will honor your home by doing their business outdoors.
We practice early neurological stimulation, teach basic commands as well as how to walk on a leash properly. As you can imagine with training already having begun before your puppy's pick-up date, it will be so much less stress adding one of our premium puppies into your family life!
Our sweet puppies have their nails trimmed regularly, go on car rides, walks in the forest, into stores about town and are constantly being enriched with new sounds and experiences. They have been fed a diet specific for large breed puppies and the heart health of the European Doberman breed in mind since being weaned.
The puppies have also been DNA tested for all Doberman genetics. Our European Dobermans are negative for -

Not many breeders opt to do individual puppy DNA testing with some breeders choosing to only test the parents however, we want you to know your new puppy's genetic framework, should those genes express throughout your puppy's life or not. This is especially helpful in starting their new journey with you and valuable information to share with your new puppy's DVM.
Our Dam weighs 90lbs; Sire is 100lbs. Dam measures 27" at the withers while our Sire measures 29" respectively. Our puppies' maternal bloodline is from Turkey & their paternal bloodlines hail from Germany & Eastern Europe.
Dam & Sire DNA tested with Embark. Dam + Sire extensively health tested with OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) - OFA Thyroid, OFA Elbows & Hips, OFA Eyes, OFA Dentition. Dam & Sire DNA tested & Sire is registered with AKC. Both Sire & Dam are NKC Registered. Price is for pet-only homes. Our gorgeous puppies are ready to go home today. They will come with their NKC papers for you to register and obtain their Pedigree. You will also need to register their microchip with AKCreunite.org.
